Master Builders Associations – Award winning project

This project comprised the demolition and stripout of existing rooms, asbestos removal, structural modifications and extensions to create a public foyer, retail kitchen, butchery practical area, cool rooms and freezer, dry stores, wash bays, toilets and classrooms. Unexpected existing structural conditions, remedial works associated with concrete cancer and limited access all added to the difficulty of this project. The discovery of the latent conditions required reprogramming of the project to incorporate significant additional works. Access for the works was limited as the building is adjacent to a number of occupied buildings within the TAFE campus. The standard of finish was high, with a demonstrated understanding of quality detailing being utilised throughout the project and particular attention to detail for food preparation areas.
